The extension does all its work locally in your browser. It has no account, sends no browsing data anywhere, and shows no ads.
The extension
OnlineGamblingBlocker runs entirely on your device:
- No account, no sign-up. You install it and it works — there is nothing to register.
- No browsing data leaves your device. The blocklist and detection run locally; we never receive, store or transmit the sites you visit.
- Your settings stay local. Your allowlist, your extra-blocked sites and the local "blocked" counter are stored only in your own browser's storage. Clearing the extension's data removes them.
- No analytics, no ads, no third parties. There are no trackers, no advertising networks and no affiliate links anywhere in the product.
Permissions, and why
- Website access (declarativeNetRequest): used to recognise and block gambling sites before they load. These rules are applied by your browser itself — the extension never reads or records the pages you visit.
- Storage: used to remember your own settings (allowlist, blocked sites, preferences) locally on your device.
This website
This site is intentionally lightweight. We set no cookies — none at all — and run no analytics, advertising or third-party trackers. Everything the site needs (styles, scripts, fonts and images) is served from our own domain; we don't embed third-party CDNs, web fonts, social widgets or "like" buttons that could watch you.
Like most websites, the server that hosts these pages may keep standard technical logs (for example, IP address and the page requested) for security and reliability. These are not used to profile or identify you, and are not combined with anything else.
Installing from the Chrome Web Store
If you install the extension from the Chrome Web Store, Google — as the distributor — may record aggregate, anonymous figures such as install and uninstall counts under its own policies. That happens on Google's side, not ours, and tells us nothing about you personally. The extension itself still sends us nothing.
Your rights
Privacy laws such as the GDPR and CCPA give you rights over personal data a company holds about you. Because we don't collect or store any personal data, there is simply nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete — but you're welcome to contact us with any privacy question and we'll answer plainly.
Children
This service is intended for adults seeking to limit their own or their household's access to gambling. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone.
